Food equals brain power! - Delphi Boston Delphi Boston

Food equals brain power!

A well-balanced and satisfying diet is essential for anyone, but especially important for the little ones who need lots of brain power to study hard and learn new things! A diet that consists of high-fat and high-calorie foods with little nutritional value doesn’t just make you gain weight: it impairs focus, energy, motivation, sleep, and overall wellness. On the other hand, a diet that consists of energy-rich, low fat foods packed with antioxidants, iron and other minerals can make a huge difference in a student’s mood and focus. Here a few foods you should make sure you are adding to you and your kids diet for optimal performance:

For increased energy levels it’s recommended to consume whole grains in between meals. For higher levels of energy you can also eat oranges, red meat, oatmeal, drink milk, and increase water intake.

Your brain also craves certain nutrients. Some foods you brain loves includes blueberries, tuna, avocados, walnuts, salmon, eggs, and cranberries.

For an overall increased nutrients value you should make sure to eat hummus, apples, strawberries, quinoa, watermelon, and broccoli.

Make sure you are adding these foods to your and your kid’s diets to ensure your brain is getting all the power it needs to function properly!
